Privacy Policy

Last updated September 30, 2026

Unisole is a dashboard that shows an LMU student their assignments, announcements, and important emails in one place. It was built by an LMU student and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Loyola Marymount University, D2L (Brightspace), McGraw Hill, or Microsoft.

What the extension reads

The Unisole Chrome extension only reads data from sites you are already signed in to in Chrome, and only for your own account:

What we never see

Unisole never sees, stores, or transmits your LMU password, your Duo codes, or your Microsoft or McGraw Hill passwords. The extension uses the logins already in your browser. Your Unisole account itself uses an email address and a password that only Unisole stores, in hashed form.

Where your data goes

Everything the extension reads is saved to your own Unisole account, hosted on Supabase in the United States. Database access rules mean only your account can read your rows. Data is encrypted in transit.

To write your daily brief and sort your email, assignment titles and email subject lines and previews are processed by a third-party language-model service (Anthropic) under terms that do not allow it to train on your data. No passwords, full email bodies, or attachments are ever sent there.

What we do with it

We use your data to show your dashboard, write your brief, and sort your email. That is the only purpose. We do not sell it, share it with the university or anyone else, use it for advertising, or use it for anything unrelated to the dashboard.

We use usage analytics (which pages are opened and which features are used) to improve the app. School data is not included in analytics.

Account and usage records

Alongside your school data, your account holds a few small records that help us run and improve Unisole:

If you visit on a phone

The extension only installs on a laptop or desktop, so on a phone we offer to save your email address so you remember to finish later. If you leave it, we store the address, the tags of the link you came from, the date, and the kind of device (phone or tablet, iOS or Android), never the full browser details. The list only takes LMU addresses. It is used only to remind you about Unisole, never shared, and you can ask us to remove it at any time at the address below.

Extension settings

The extension can fetch a small settings file from your Unisole account (for example how often to sync, or which part of a page to read) so fixes do not always need a new extension release. These settings are plain values, never code, and the extension checks every one of them before use.

How long we keep it, and how to delete it

Your data stays in your account for as long as the account exists. On the dashboard, open Settings (the gear icon) and choose Delete account: your account, everything synced to it, the records above, and any phone reminder that used your address are erased immediately. Signing out of the extension also clears the copy it keeps on your computer. A phone reminder left without an account is removed on request.

Who this is for

Unisole is for LMU students and requires an LMU email address. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address with a new date.
